Ladies Section

Welcome to Theydon Bois Ladies’ Section

The Ladies’ Section warmly welcomes you to Theydon Bois Golf Club. Our ladies' section is a thriving and very friendly bunch, who welcome women of all abilities to join them. Golf is a sport that can be taken up at any age, and the handicap system means that you can play on equal terms with golfers of any level. We are proud to be part of the Women and Girls in Golf Charter, and also work closely with local schools to encourage both children and their parents to become involved.

Lots of opportunities to play

We regularly run traditional medal and stableford competition on Thursdays, both qualifying for your handicap and for fun, as well as some other formats, so there is lots of variety. A monthly draw means new members quickly integrate into the club and meet their fellow players, and everybody is guaranteed a partner every week through our simple online booking system. On Tuesday mornings we have a social roll-up, then at weekends there are both Club Stablefords, Rose Bowl medals, and alternate days for the Thursday competitions, if that’s when you prefer to play.

And that’s not all

We enter teams at a County level for their inter-club competitions, as well as nationally for those run by the Mail on Sunday and Ping.  At a local level we have a programme of friendly matches with neighbouring clubs, and both singles and pairs knockouts within the section. Our Lady Captain organises an annual awayday, as well as an overnight break, and we also have reciprocal arrangements with some local courses, where you can go and play for free. There’s also coaching at all levels from our pros, both group and individual

Mixed golf is popular

During spring and summer we run a Thursday evening competition with a light meal afterwards, as well as mixed events on some Tuesday evenings, and every Bank Holiday. There are also mixed knockouts, and opportunities to play both with and against the men in several weekend competitions, ranging from Stablefords to Texas Scrambles.

Social events play a large part at Theydon

Our golf is complemented by a popular social programme organised by a very active Bar and Social Committee – ranging from Sunday lunches to evening events such as quizzes, discos and talks with supper, along with outings to everything from race meetings to days out at other courses.

So why Theydon?

Theydon is an easy-walking course, much of it in Epping Forest. This encourages you to think about the shots you play and the club you choose to play them. It is an excellent test of all levels of golfer, both accomplished and novice.  Whether you are new to golf, or an old hand, you will always find a fun game and a warm welcome at our beautiful forest course.
